US Accounting Manager

Summary:
We're seeking a qualified and experienced US Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, ensure regulatory compliance. This role plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.
You will oversee the financial operations of multiple clients within our outsourced accounting firm model. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of US GAAP, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to ensure regulatory compliance. This role involves managing an offshore accounting team while maintaining strong client relationships.
Responsibilities:
Lead month-end close process for a portfolio of clients, collaborate with global accounting team to complete reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules as needed
Prepare monthly financial statements with trend and variance analysis
Oversee general accounting processes, including streamlining workflow and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
Support clients through audits and due diligence as needed
Prepare federal, state and local tax and compliance filings such as: 1099s, Delaware Franchise, 3921s, etc.
Own general accounting processes, including streamlining workflow and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables
Support & mentor Halkin accounting team and provide ongoing feedback
Partner with colleagues across the company and within the team to implement and integrate new process
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred
Proven accounting experience with GAAP and financial reporting knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience working with startup companies
Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero) a plus
Experience with payables software (Bill.com, Ramp, Settle) a plus
Experience with inventory systems (Cin7, Apparel Magic) a plus
Experience with sales & use tax platforms (Avalara, TaxJar) a plus
Strong Excel skills
Previous audit and tax preparation experience a plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience working in a firm on multiple clients
Experience working with offshore accounting teams a plus
